When big brands like Quicksilver, Billabong, and Rip Curl had repetitive design styles, Xracing (the boardshort company) introduced unique Chinese heritage design elements like the Dancing Lion, goldfish, and phoenix. After months of idea exchanges and about 1,000 trials of color and pattern combinations, the final product was perfected. The collection eventually expanded to include women’s surf clothing and was sold on eBay in 13 countries, including Sweden, Australia, the United Kingdom, and France.
